Sabores do Alentejo Restaurant

Located on the ground floor facing the garden and the pool, the restaurant Sabores do Alentejo has the signature of Chef António Nobre. The menu is based on the Alentejo cuisine with innovation, always using local products in delicious and surprising combinations.

Weather permitting, the terrace facing the pool is the most tempting place for all meals.


António Nobre likes to be considered a Chef with Alentejo roots, able to innovate within the  limits of the Mediterranean gastronomy, aiming at the preservation of its authenticity and always in touch with the products of the earth. He manages to be at the same time innovative and conservative, as we can confirm through his cookbook published in 2010, "Entre Poejos e Coentros" ("From pennywort to coriander").

O Chef

All the menus of the restaurants  of the two  M`AR De AR Hotels are the full responsibility of Chef António Nobre.  He  contributes  with the quality of his art  to the good name of the Restaurant Degust`AR at the Aqueduto Hotel  and the restaurant "Sabores do Alentejo", at the Muralhas Hotel, where he had his debut in 2002.

Among other activities, Chef António Nobre is a Brother of the Gastronomic Guild of the Alentejo. He participates since 2002 in the prestigious San Sebastian Congress "Lo Mejor de la Gastronomia". He was the pioneer in 2002 in the creation of a list of all the olive oils of  Portugal. In 2004 he received the prize "Panela ao Lume". In 2006 he published the book "Portuguese Chefs, the best recipes" and received 2 golden awards in the contest "Gastronomy with Port Wine". He cooperated in numerous newspapers and sites, and in September 2006 he was chosen  as teh editor of  the page "Appetites" in the Portuguese newspaper Expresso. In cooperation with the Norwegian Council for Fishing (NORGE), he created a series of simple recipes with dry and fresh cod and salmon. He was invited by Chef Henrique Sá Pessoa to participate in the T V program "Entre Pratos" (Between Courses) and is preparing a cookbook entitled "70 easy recipes for the entire family".

Open from 12:30 to 15:00 for lunch, and from 19:30 to 22:30 for dinner.

The breakfasts are also served in Sabores do Alentejo restaurant between 7:00 and 10:30, Monday to Friday; and between 7.30 and 11.00 on Saturdays and Sundays.
