“The City Hall of Évora is not only a stage for many political activities, but also offers many architectural styles. The building is an ancient palace that invites you to enter, and was previously a noble house with a large patio and a fountain, a granite stairway, coach house and stables, barn and wine cellar, and a garden with a tower. The upper floor was meant for the residential area. When sold to the government the building suffered some big transformations. Among the various changes were the big atrium, the staircase and metal roof in the entrance hall, the veranda and the reception hall.
In 1987 (…) some remains of a Roman spa were found.”
