Cathedral Museum of Religious Art
“In spite of its inauguration in 2009, part of this collection was open to the public decades ago in one of the upper galleries of the cathedral treasure room. Later on it was moved to the premises of the School of the Cathedral Choir Boys, where the Music School had its head office in the XVIII century.
Nowadays the museum exhibits one of the best religious art collections in Portugal. Two floors of the house adjacent to the Évora Cathedral, the chapel, corridors and cells show precious paintings, jewelry, sculptures and vestments, the Virgin of Eden, an ivory and silver sculpture, being the obvious highlight of the visit. “
